Islamabad: The Election Commission has suggested holding polls in Punjab from
April 9 to 13, and in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from April 15 to 17. The Election
Commission has recommended dates for elections in Punjab and KP,
according to information.
The Election Commission has written to the governors of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
to notify the date.
According to reports, the Punjab Assembly was dissolved on January 14, and elections must
be held within 90 days of the assembly's dissolution.
According to the Election Commission, the Governor has the constitutional right to declare
the date of the elections under Article 105, however, agree with the Election Commission
is required for the date of the elections.
According to the notification, elections in Punjab must be held by April 13. Elections in Punjab
will take place from April 9 to April 13. The election date shall be set by Governor Punjab
between April 9 and April 13.
The Election Commission also said that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly was dissolved on
January 18. Elections in KP are planned to take place from April 15 to April 17. According to
the constitution, the election date will be proclaimed by the Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
between April 15 and 17.
