LAHORE: Senior Vice President of Pakistan Muslim League (N) Maryam Nawaz reached
Lahoreon Saturday afternoon.
During her first address to the PML-N workers after stepping down, she congratulated
PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif, saying Mr. Sharif is still the nation's most popular leader
and he is facing difficulties. He’s aware of People's problems. "He will soon return to the
nation," she continued.
"We have to encourage Finance Minister Ishaq Dar to bring the country out of its economic
woes, and that will take time," she added about the country's economy. We will not sit until
we change the destiny of the nation.
She said that the PML-N would win a majority in Punjab and that party members would
not be afraid to run in elections. "Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif did not play the vengeance
game with you [Imran Khan]," she said.
Hundreds of PML-N workers and supporters, headed by party officials, flocked to the
Allama Iqbal International Airport to greet the party's newly elevated senior vice president.
She said that the previous administration stifled the country's growth and that the PTI was
to blame for the country's economic troubles. "We have to shepherd the country out of
disaster," she said again.
Maryam Nawaz arrived in Lahore on PIA aircraft 264 from Dubai after spending three and
a half months in London. She left London on Thursday and spent a day in Dubai. Her father,
Nawaz Sharif, and other party members wished her farewell from Avenfield.
The PML-N leaders had completed arrangements for Maryam's greeting, and it had been
agreed that she would address PML-N supporters from atop a container before heading for
Jati Umra. According to Dunya News, there would be no rally.
Maryam Nawaz left for London on October 6, 2022.
"Welcoming the party's senior vice president would serve as a dress rehearsal for Nawaz
Sharif's homecoming," Khawaja Salman Rafique stated.
